Open SortLab from your Shopify admin, go to Collections, and select any collection you want to optimize. Choose a sorting strategy — Revenue Maximizer is the best starting point for most stores — then set your sorting schedule. Your first sort runs immediately. You'll see the updated order reflected in your storefront within a minute.

Most stores see their first meaningful sort within seconds of setup. For revenue analytics, SortLab ingests your Shopify order history on install — this typically takes 5–30 minutes depending on your store size. Once ingested, all strategies that factor in revenue data (Revenue Maximizer, Best Sellers, Customer Favorites) are fully powered.

Yes. The SortLab dashboard includes a live preview that shows you the exact sorted order before you save it. You can toggle the preview on and off to compare the before and after, so you always know what your customers will see.

No. SortLab is 100% no-code. It works through Shopify APIs with no theme edits. The app also uses Shopify's Web Pixels API for analytics signals used by reporting and optimization.

For most stores, start with Revenue Maximizer. It surfaces products that are generating the most revenue per position, which typically boosts collection performance immediately. If you have a lot of new inventory, try New Arrivals Boost instead. You can always run an A/B test later to find the optimal strategy for each collection.

Revenue Maximizer (rank by revenue generated), Best Sellers (rank by units sold), New Arrivals Boost (prioritize recent additions), Inventory Clearance (push excess stock up), Customer Favorites (rank by conversion rate), Trending Now (boost products with recent momentum), and Balanced Smart Sort (a composite of all signals for a well-rounded sort).

It depends on your plan: Starter sorts daily, Advanced sorts 4× per day, and Enterprise can sort hourly. You can also trigger a manual sort at any time on all plans. Each sort uses your freshest order and analytics data.

Yes, on all paid plans. You can pin any product to an absolute position — for example, always keep your hero product at position #1 — and SortLab will sort everything else around it. Tag-based push rules (always push up or push down products with a specific tag) require Advanced or Enterprise.

Only on collections where you've explicitly activated SortLab. Any collection you haven't configured is completely untouched. Within an active collection, SortLab replaces the order each time it runs — but you can pause any collection at any time to restore manual control.

A/B testing lets you run two different sorting strategies on the same collection simultaneously. SortLab splits traffic between Strategy A and Strategy B, measures revenue and conversion rate for each variant, and shows a confidence score. Once one strategy reaches 95% statistical confidence, you can deploy it as the winner with one click.

Segments let you split a collection into logical sub-groups with different sorting rules for each group. For example, you could sort your 'Shoes' collection with jewelry at the top sorted by revenue, sale items in the middle sorted by inventory, and new arrivals at the bottom sorted by date — all automatically.

Yes. SortLab can sort collections independently per market, so your French store can surface different top products than your US store based on market-specific sales data.

SortLab doesn't have a free plan, but eligible first-time stores receive a 14-day trial on the selected paid plan before Shopify Billing starts charging. The Starter plan begins at $19/month.

Starter ($19/month) covers 5 collections with daily sorting, 7 AI strategies, segments, and 30-day analytics. Advanced ($69/month) covers 25 collections sorted up to 4× daily, and adds A/B testing, tag-based push rules, and 60-day analytics. Enterprise ($199/month) covers 200 collections with hourly sorting, adds custom weighted sorting rules, sorts up to 10,000 products per collection, and includes 90-day analytics. Eligible first-time stores receive a 14-day trial.

Yes. SortLab is month-to-month with no contracts or cancellation fees. You can cancel from your Shopify admin under Apps & Sales Channels → SortLab → Cancel subscription. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.

Yes. Eligible first-time stores receive a 14-day trial on the selected paid plan before Shopify Billing starts charging. You can cancel during the trial from Shopify.

We offer a full refund within 7 days of your first charge if SortLab didn't meet your expectations. Reach out to hi@hyperionlab.co with your store URL and we'll process it immediately.

Billing is managed through Shopify Billing. You'll approve the selected plan in Shopify and see SortLab charges on your Shopify invoice.

SortLab does not modify theme files or add theme scripts. It reorders products through Shopify APIs and uses Shopify's Web Pixels API for analytics signals.

Yes. Because SortLab works at the collection level via the Shopify API, it's 100% theme-agnostic. It works identically with Dawn, Debut, Prestige, Impulse, custom themes, and every third-party theme builder.

SortLab reads Shopify order line-item metrics, product metadata (tags, type, vendor, price, inventory levels), and collection structure. It does not ingest customer names, emails, payment details, or addresses for sorting, and compliance webhooks are handled separately from sorting data.

No. Your store data is used exclusively to power sorting decisions for your store. It is never used to train AI models, shared with third parties, or aggregated across merchants. Your data is yours.

Check the collection status in the SortLab dashboard. If it shows 'Error', it's usually a temporary Shopify API issue that resolves within the hour. If it persists, try disabling and re-enabling the collection. If the issue continues, reach out via live chat or email — we can diagnose it directly from the logs.

Yes. SortLab is fully compatible with Shopify Plus, including multi-market setups, custom storefronts, and headless implementations that consume the Shopify Storefront API.
